So I have been asked a lot of questions lately regarding my cupcakes.
How do you get them to rise so well? Why do mine sink in the middle? eg eg...
So I thought I would help a little and give my advice on how I achieve a perfect cupcake. 🧁
Im calling it Dee's Tips 🤣
Now I'm not saying I'm the best Baker and my way is the best. Lol 😂 not at all. because we all do our baking our own way and have our own preference on how we like to do things.
I'm not going to give you my recipe 🤣 sorry guys! It's taken me years to perfect mine. 👌🏻
Im a big believer in that anyone can bake! Yes anyone it just takes a lot of practice and patience. You will get there eventually trust me! We all started not knowing a single thing. 🤷♀️
Right so let's get to it
1. Oven temp Now this depends on your oven but I do like the slow and longer method with my bakingI bake mine at 150C /160C again depends on your oven. I bake for 25/30 mins.
Get it preheated at least 10 mins
2. Cake mixI don't use any bio carb/ baking powder in my bakes. I don't like it and I feel it effects the taste that's just my opinion 🤷♀️ I use self raising flour. this already has a raising agent in it so no need really. If your following a recipe just add in an extra egg it won't make it taste eggy I promise. You need to have enough mix to fill your cases 3 1/4 the way full. If you don't have enough mix in them then you won't achieve a full cupcake.
This happens often when you buy the quick box recipes. they don't have enough mix in them you don't get full cupcakes.
4. casesI use muffin or extra large cases. Cupcake cases are fine but I like them bigger.
Do NOT I can't stress enough do NOT open your oven door until the required time has reached. Your bakes will sink! You know who you are! Lol just be patient for goodness sake. 🤣🤣 They can also sink if you over mix. It really doesn't take long so be careful.
So that's it for today! Thanks for reading 🥰
Happy baking!
